No-Sink Cakes!

One of the most common things that I get asked as a baker, is how I make my cakes rise so much without sinking.

So before I start, I am by no means trained in any sorts of culinary skills, but these are just some little hints and tips that I have collated along the way! So my number one tip to help your cakes rise is don’t over mix! You want to make sure that you have a nice fluffy cake, however if you beat it too much, there will be too many big air pockets in the cake so when it comes out of the oven, it will sink.

Another top tip to help it not sinking, is when the cake comes out of the oven, don’t put it on a flat surface ie. granite worktop, always use a cooling rack! This makes sure that there is enough air circulating under the cake.
